Conflicted The Existing Series Vol 2
by A.M. Guilliams
#LIVE and only #99cents
Blurb:
I’m passionate, caring, and loyal to a fault. All traits that have gotten me to where I am today.
My future was finally headed in the direction I felt it was always meant to go. Anger fueled my determination for success. But life was never that easy. I should’ve known better than to think it would all just fall into place. All it took was one freak accident to cause my whole world to pause, teetering on emotions I never imagined were possible. Promises were made; vows I would keep until the day I died.
Delaney Winters came tumbling into my hometown with nowhere else to turn. Something about her calmed the storm that brewed inside of me. I tried and failed to keep myself from attempting to save her. I wanted to be more than just the hero she claimed she didn’t need.
Feelings were never supposed to develop.
Love was never part of the promise.
How far would you go to keep a promise before you crossed the line to love?
My name is Weston Corbin, and this is my story.

Finding Libbie by Deanna Lynn Sletten

About the Book
Poring over a dusty hatbox of photographs in her grandmother’s closet, Emily Prentice is shocked to discover her father was married to his high school sweetheart before meeting her mother.
In the summer of 1968, Jack and Libbie fall in love under the spell of their small town, untouched by the chaos of the late sixties. Though Libbie’s well-to-do parents disapprove of Jack’s humble family and his aspiration to become a mechanic, she marries Jack a year after they graduate high school. But soon their happiness crumbles as Libbie’s mental state unravels and she is drawn to alcohol and drugs. Despite his efforts to help her, Jack loses the woman he loves and is forced to move on with his life.
Now that Emily’s mother has passed away, Jack is alone again, and Emily grows obsessed with the beautiful woman who had given her father such joy. Determined to find Libbie, Emily pieces together the couple’s fragmented past. But is it too late for happy endings?

What’s up with the Derby hat?
Since I’m a lifelong Kentuckian of course I had to write a fun mystery about horses and a little bit about the Derby since it’s an official holiday in the Bluegrass State.
As much as the horse is important to the Derby, the hat is just as much as a staple.
The Derby hat can cost as much or as little as the wearer wants to spend.
I imagine Col. Meriwether Lewis Clark Jr., the founder of the Kentucky Derby, had no idea how much the hat would become a staple for women and men. Back in the late 1800’s gambling and horse racing went hand-in-hand in Kentucky. It was not a fittinplace for a lady.
The Colonel wanted to turn the image around about horse racing, so with  the help of his wife and many trips to London, England, he started to transform Churchill Downs Race Track from a place of ill-repute to more high-society gathering.
He and his wife drove their wagon around to the houses of their high-society friends and told them they were going to a fancy picnic at the track. They put on their fanciest dudes including their hats. Over 10,000 women and men attended the first Derby. The women had coordinated their entire outfits to their hats, including their parasols. It wouldn’t be until a couple of years later when the very first celebrity, Polish actress Helena Modjeska, came to the Derby and made it the place to see and be seen.
The rest is history!

Would you wear a big hat or small hat to the Derby?

Synopsis:
And they're off!
Gambling on horse racing is Kentucky's number one sport but when Kentucky Derby Thoroughbred picked to win the Derby, Rails and Nails, ends up poisoned, SKUL special agent Mick Jasper and rookiewitch Maggie Park, who keeps her witch powers a secret, are called in to investigate a world of illegal gambling where a run for the roses can prove to be deadly.
