Synopsis:

Josephine Clark is trapped. A harrowing past haunts her every time she looks in the mirror, and she can’t escape the violence of her everyday life. More and more, her thoughts turn to Evan Salinger, the boy she knew in high school. The boy they called a mental case. A loner. A freak. The boy who seemed to know things no one could know. For a few short weeks, Jo had found perfect solace in Evan’s company, sneaking every night to meet him at the local pool. In the cool of the water and the warmth of Evan’s arms around her, Jo had tasted something close to happiness.

Cruel circumstances tore them apart, and four years later, the sweet memory of their time together is dissolving under the punishing reality of Jo’s life now. Evan seems like a fading dream…until he reappears at the moment she needs him most. Guided by Evan’s strange intuition, they flee her small Louisiana town, running from police and criminals alike, and Jo begins to suspect there is something more to his sudden return than he admits.

Over twelve days across America’s heartland, deep secrets come to light, buried pasts are unearthed, and the line between dreams and reality is blurred as Evan and Jo fight to hold on to their soul-deep love, and discover that there is more than one way to save a life.

How to Save a Life is a complete second-chance STANDALONE novel with some shades of the paranormal. It carries the characters from high school through to their early twenties. It is not YA; mature subject matter and sexual situations. For readers18 years and up.

At just twenty-five years old, Elinor has landed the job of her dreams: She’s going to be Merry the Advice Fairy for the Snowflake Valley Gazette. She’s ecstatic that she’s about to embark on a fun, cushy career while living in the cutest, quaintest town she’s ever known. She’s barely settled into her desk at work when that famous Snowflake Valley shimmer starts to fizzle. The real Snowflake Valley bears little resemblance to the picture postcard tourist destination she and her family loved when she was a child. Her new co-workers are uninspiring, to say the least, and the problems that people are submitting to the Gazette are much weightier than what she was expecting. Losing faith in herself, Elinor considers cutting her losses and moving on. However, the attention of hot young reporter Nile might be enough to get her past her chilly start in Snowflake Valley, and back to seeing its charm once again.

A Very Grey Christmas by TA Foster

Good, quick read. I loved the characters and the flow of the story. It seems that this story could go on? No cliffhangers but possibilities for future stories. There was family, Christmas, and even romance! Highly recommend! Given copy for honest review.

Description

I was getting ready to spend the single most important holiday of the year alone.

Completely and utterly alone.

That meant he wouldn’t be there Christmas Eve. No making Christmas cookies, or listening to my dad sing off-key while my mom bustled around wrapping last-minute gifts. No decorating the tree. No midnight Christmas kiss.

No waking up in Grey’s arms. We were actually going to spend our very first Christmas in different states.

That was until Grey gave me the most unexpected gift of my life.

The Body in the Landscape by Larissa Reinhart

I really liked this book. I liked the characters and the story. There were twists and turns and just when you thought you knew what was going on the story went another direction. I was caught up in the story from the first word. I highly recommend this book. I was given a copy of book for honest review.

When Cherry Tucker’s invited to paint the “kill portrait” for the winner of Big Rack Lodge’s Hogzilla hunt, it seems like a paid vacation. Back home in Halo, a Hatfield-McCoy-style standoff builds between Luke and Cherry’s families. She’s ready for a weekend away, hobnobbing with rich and famous hunters, where she can forget her troubles and nobody knows her name.
As Georgia sunshine turns to bleak December rain, Cherry’s R&R goes MIA when she finds a body in the woods. While the police believe the local drunk took an accidental spill, Cherry has her doubts, particularly when a series of malicious pranks are targeted at the rifle toting contestants. With loyal companions at her side—sort-of-ex-husband Todd and a championship bayer named Buckshot—Cherry tracks suspects through a forest full of pitfalls and perils. And all the while, a killer’s stalking the hunt party with a bead on Cherry.

It may not be your normal read but give it a try. Given copy for honest review.

In addition to the three original tales, Sensitives, The Guardiansand The Forgotten, this compilation contains a fourth, shocking segment. Carter’s Mill answers questions about the origin of the Wraith and explains its bond to the Carter family. It reveals the shameful truth behind the curse that plagues them. Zeb, the Carter family patriarch, is a hard, unfeeling man. He runs his thriving sawmill, farm and family with an iron fist. Plan Bea by Hilary Grossman

I loved this book. The characters, the flow of the story, and the concept. Hilary does a great job with the conversations between the characters and detailing the emotions and reactions with the characters. You feel like you are there experiencing first hand what is going on. Highly recommend. I was given this book for honest review.

Could falling in love allow a cold, stubborn, and selfish women to open her heart back up to her family?

Beatrice Buchanan has spent more years than she can remember distancing herself from everyone close to her. She has no relationship with her grandchildren and the only time she speaks to her daughter is during her weekly fifteen-minute commute to the nail salon. When Bea meets Walter on a cruise she realizes there may be more to life than designer clothes and impressing the ladies at her country club.

We live our entire lives thinking we know those closest to us. But do we ever really?

On the outside, Annabel O'Conner has it all - the perfect husband, two adorable children, and an amazing job. The only thing missing is her mother's love. When Bea begs her daughter to help plan her wedding, Annabel reluctantly agrees. Little does she know the impact of her decision or the surprise that is in store for her!

This emotional and honest women's contemporary fiction novel will tug at your heartstrings and the twist ending will shock you.

First up we have COOKIE GIRL CHRISTMAS. This full-length, charming Christmas adventure will have you "laughing at some points, wiping tears in the next, and smiling throughout." With fun and scrumptious holiday recipes included, Cookie Girl Christmas is delicious in more ways than one. (Quote taken from Amazon review.)

Molly Hayes has one more job before Christmas and then she can put her plans for a storefront bakery of her own in motion. What she doesn't bargain for is the handsome young Scrooge who insults her cookies and makes her blood boil. Toss in a heaping helping of snowstorm and a pinch of romantic old Inn and you've got yourself the perfect recipe for a not-so-silent-night.

Next we have GETTING KOLE FOR CHRISTMAS, a young adult novella where a teenage girl tries to get her best guy friend out of the friend zone. Complete at 127 pages, one reader calls Getting Kole for Christmas"Sweet Teenage Holiday Angst" Loredana Adriana of Goodreads says, "Oh my gosh, I simply cannot contain the happy, silly, idiotic smile I have now on my face after reading this delightful little novella." (First review from Donna Flint Amazon.com.)

Kylie’s been crushing on Kole for two years now, but can she get him to see her as more than a friend?
For years Kylie has watched her older sisters get asked to every school dance there is. Yet once she’s old enough to go, the invites are in short supply. While getting overlooked has never felt good, it hasn’t really hurt the way it does this year. Because now there’s someone she really wants to go with: Kole Kingston. Kole is charming and funny. Gorgeous and kind. And everything she wants in a guy. Trouble is, he’s also her very best friend. Can Kylie tear herself free from the friend-zone in time to get asked to the Christmas dance? Or will she – like so many others – find that a romance between them will never be?

Don't miss your chance to pick these up at a reduced price!
